Ayurveda
r-u-veda
Originating over 5,000 years ago in India, Ayurveda literally means “the science of life.” Ayurvedic medicine (“Ayurveda” for short) is one of the world's oldest holistic (“whole-body”) healing systems.
Principles of Ayurveda include the doshas or three life forces or energies. They are vata dosha (space and air); pitta dosha (fire and water); and kapha dosha (water and earth).
Ayurvedic practices and therapies address the underlying issues causing physical and mental discomfort and eradicate them. This helps to achieve inner and outer balance, leading to an overall feeling of harmony and peace.
Ayurveda may be used in conjunction with Western medical treatments without interference or side effects. However, Ayurveda does not replace Western medicine; it complements it by assisting holistic function and supporting bodily health.
Ayurvedic physicians diagnose and create treatment plans. Diane can work with your Ayurvedic physician to administer therapies that they request like panchakarma, seasonal cleansing, and others.
For some clients, Diane suggests an Ayurvedic consultation.
